Autumn Winter 2015 grew quite organically from my previous collections. I've continued my love affair with gypsies and embroidered on the fantastical element. My team of creatives and I have played with the drape and natural feel of fabric to sculpt garments. The visual and tactile textures of the fabrics might initially seem contrasting, but as we worked with them a strong intertwining theme arose. Textures created though knitting would be echoed in the weave of a fabric and again in braided hair. The shimmer of raw silk repeated in a metallic thread woven into a chunky jacquard. The sheer element of mesh mimicked in digital prints.
A rich almost Persian colour palette compliments the over-sized cocoon silhouettes. It contrasts the earthy element of the collection yet echos the colours of autumn leaves.
