2017 “… embodies such characteristics as love, balance, feminine beauty, and artistic creativity”

I found this little idea yesterday and suddenly it all fell into place; this is exactly where SIES!isabelle is and what I wish to share though my clothing. My collection strives to be something that celebrates feminine beauty though my artistic creativity, a brand that allows for balance between work, play and home. I create pieces for you to love and to be loved in.
Strange how things sometimes come together though random conversations…

Spring-summer 2016-17 The “By African hands for African bodies" collection celebrates craftsmanship and femininity with soft cocoon silhouettes and beautifully crafted details. The soft circular shape was a underlying influence appearing repeatedly in the cutout shapes, the trace patterns of the hand knitted panels even the layout of the catwalk at SA Fashion week.
Raw edged hemlines and barefooted models lend a relaxed feel to this collection, blurring the lines between luxurious high-end fashion and everyday beauty. It explores the variety of soft colours found in Africa; from skin tones to subtle desert shades.

Autumn - Winter 2016 "Post-Apocalyptic Nomad" is a collection of functional fabric sculptures celebrating the diverse and eclectic nature of our current climate.

Spring-summer 2015-16 “Wonderer” is a collection of fabric sculptures wafting in the sea breeze. My muse runs barefoot along the beach away from urban life, away from reality into a fantasy world where she can dress in silks and dance to the rhythm of the ocean. I’m played with the contrast between luxurious fabrics and deconstruction; almost grunge but still feminine.

Autumn - Winter 2015 grew quite organically from my previous collections. I've continued my love affair with gypsies and embroidered on the fantastical element. My team of creatives and I have played with the drape and natural feel of fabric to sculpt garments. The visual and tactile textures of the fabrics might initially seem contrasting, but as we worked with them a strong intertwining theme arose.

For Summer 2014-15 I've drawn subtle inspiration from birds; their flight, shape and texture of their feathers and wings and their silhouette; a safe cocooned shape with their wings folded away then opening up and taking flight.

Winter 2014 is a fairy tale inspired collection. I played with the concept of revisiting styles and retelling their stories in a new and more tactile environment.

Spring 13-14 is a collection of wild flowers transformed into clothing. I aspire to covey an essence of femininity; a noble immutable quality that inspires respect and love. I wish to elevate women though clothing, sheltering them from the undignified, vulgar influences of our time.

A devotion to fabric; mainly silk, viscose and cotton, has inspired my imagination. I started off with very minimal sketches but the manner the fabric drapes often suggests what it would rather become.

Winter 13 is a forest fairy tale with gypsies and imps wearing raw silk and wool. We dance beneath the willow trees singing and drumming as we go. It is a mythical world that does not want to be sensible. We want to play, to create and to sculpt.

The silhouettes are soft and asymmetrical; caressing the body, yet exploring new shapes. The pallet is mostly greens and yellows with grey and nude shadows. Leather bags and bronze jewelry adorn my pixies, complementing the hand knitted scarves and practical shoes.

Summer 12-13 is inspired by a beach escape. There is a serene colour palette of sandy beaches and African skies, with deep sea blue, fresh turquoise and sandy nudes.
